Prep 2020, take two. Back to school today, sporting one less tooth! 🦷 Renee was the real star here, wrangling and schooling a five year old for the last six weeks, handling her own work, while entertaining a three year old and keeping everything else ticking. ❤️❤️ #TeamMobs
At around this time for the last five weeks I sat down to watch the Michael Jordan documentary, 'The Last Dance'. I loved watching it, but the lead-up and subsequent viewing also made me pretty sad at times. I've gone to post this a bunch of times over the last five weeks, but never really knew how to start so I'm keeping it simple: Shit I wish Vino was here to watch this. I'm not sure I've known anyone who would have enjoyed it more. I know I'm not the only one that’s been thinking about him as they’ve watched. Of all the people who tried to 'be like Mike' on court, I never met anyone who came as close to replicating the mannerisms, athleticism, competitiveness, wow factor, trash talk... and love of the game, than Vino did - of his idol. He always seemed to jump a little higher, react a little quicker, hang a little longer in the air than anyone expected. He’d terrorize a poor inbounds passer, then pick them up full court on a cold Thursday night playing B Grade Open Men at Eltham High, with so much intensity. Not many people had the balls to seek out the #23 singlet in games, Vino was desperate for it. It takes a certain amount of confidence to wear that number (think Buddy Franklin, Shane Warne, Brett Rainbow)... but his admiration for MJ was so strong. He consumed 100s of hours of Michael Jordan video content, games, interviews... and not only did he remember all the lines, he’d do the impressions of each interviewee and character, at some of the funniest moments. So much of The Last Dance took me back to those times. Great memories. ❤️🏀

‘Back-to-back, yeah!’ On Friday I heard that for the second-straight year, our social media campaign for Division 1 Nationals was awarded 'Most Outstanding Social Media Campaign' 2019 by the University sector national sporting governing body UniSport Australia! No fancy awards night and trophy like last year, but just as satisfying… and maybe more so given the criteria was expanded this time more broadly than just ‘Nationals’ to include all university sport throughout the year. The RMIT students were the stars of that campaign, and it was their spirit and passion that showcased the culture that Sally, Eliza and the RMIT Sport team has created over the years with the representative Redbacks – that made all the difference! A great team effort and I feel lucky to have been there to help tell the story online! Go Redbacks! 🕸🕷🎒
I was trying to find a way to best show off the growing cast of Space Jam characters in the @MobsCave and realised maybe I needed a court! So I found a piece of wood, measured out and painted a court. It was actually fun to try and replicate the court from the movie. Now to show it off. @artbyMobs
