There are some really great quotes to be found to stop procrastination, and motivate and inspire you into action, but I really like this one from Mike Tyson the best:
“Everyone has a plan, until they get punched in the face.”
I like it most because you can visualise a fighter spending months, even years, planning to conquer the world of boxing, working towards a shot at being the best in the world. They finally get a chance to prove themselves against the best of the best, Iron Mike, and have a strategy to beat him, and then…. Smack! All plans go out the window with one strike to the head from Tyson’s powerful punch. All the preparation, research and study into planning your attack to bring him down, has to be thrown out the window as you fight with all of your strength to simply survive, stay conscious and refocus, and battle with instinct to last minutes more.
The point is, you can plan something in your head, how it will work, how it will go, but you don’t really know what will happen until you step in the ring. Don’t spend your whole life planning to do something. Do something. Take Action and adjust when you need to.
It’s the lean start-up model I’ve written about here, it’s the ‘Just Do It’ model I’ve written about here. Have fun and give it a go.
